Kateleen Vrijdags

Kateleen Vrijdags

Kateleen Vrijdags,

has been painting since 2000. She is self-taught and paints mainly figuratively. At first, Kateleen painted flowers, facades, landscapes and dogs. Subsequently, different types of wild animals came out of his brush.

Kateleen comes from a background of hunters. His father, uncles and grandfather were both hunters. She herself was an avid hunter and often went hunting with her husband, both at home and abroad. The next step was quickly taken: friends asked him to post some drawings on hunting invitations. This is how his passion for drawing wild animals was born. She mainly draws European birds and mammals.

She always starts by painting the eyes. When there is life in the eyes, only then do I move on,” she says. Hair by hair, feather by feather, the details take over. We notice in her works that she represents animals on a white background. The essential is shown.”

She mainly uses two techniques
: acrylic and watercolor. She prepares her own paint mixtures. The collection of Digigraphies on art paper and canvas is new. Digigraphy is the result of many years of research by the Seiko Epson group,

regarding the technical performance of their printers, the quality and resistance of their UltraChrome ink pigments.
Digigraphy is a technical label which allows production or reproduction of a work of art in limited edition. Each pre-production is numbered and signed by Kateleen.
