Repeated wetting and drying can eventually cause the leather to crack. Like human skin, these natural leathers must be regularly hydrated. Leather Cream - Dubarry leather cream, the most important of all our maintenance products, contains tea tree oil, eucalyptus oil, emu oil, beeswax and lanolin to protect, preserve and soften the leather while reinforcing its water-repellent properties.
Note: Leather cream should only be used on smooth leathers and NOT suede or nubuck. Leather Cream can sometimes darken light leathers.
MANUAL
1. Remove dirt, mud, manure, salt water, etc. with clean cold water using a brush if necessary to get rid of the most stubborn dirt.
2. Apply Dubarry Shoe Cleaner to the entire surface and scrub with a brush to remove more embedded dirt and other residue. Lather generously and do not hesitate to rub the leather vigorously.
3. Rinse excess cleaner and foam from shoes with cold water.
4. Dry naturally; ideally in the open air for 24 hours before any other treatment. Never use artificial heat or leave shoes near an open fire or stove.
5. Apply the cream - Leather Cream - Dubarry sparingly to smooth leather only, rubbing gently with a clean, soft cloth or brush, paying particular attention to the flex area, which bends when you walk. Wipe off excess cream using a dry cloth.
